A man who is visiting the home of the Master stunned amazement. He saw the Master was busy working; he hauling water in buckets and scrubbing hard floor of his house. Sweat pouring rain. This peculiarity watch the man asked, "What are you doing?"
The Guru replied, "I was the arrival of a group of guests who ask for advice. I give a lot of helpful advice for them.
They seemed very satisfied. However, after they came home all of a sudden I felt a great person. My pride began to emerge. Therefore, I do this to kill my smugness. "
Arrogant is a disease that often get us all, the seeds are too often appear without us knowing it. At the lowest level, arrogant, mostly caused by the material. We feel richer, more beautiful, and more honorable than others.
In the second level, arrogant, mostly caused by intelligence. We feel smarter, more competent, and more insightful than others.
On the third level, caused by factors goodness arrogant. We often consider ourselves to be more moral, more generous, and more sincere than others.
Interestingly, the higher the level of arrogance, we are increasingly difficult to detect. Arrogant because the material is easily visible, but arrogant because knowledge, much less arrogant because it is good, difficult to detect because often only a subtle form of seeds within us.
The roots of this vanity is the excessive ego. At the level of the commonplace, the ego presents itself in the form of self-esteem (self-esteem) and confidence (self-confidence). However, once both of these things turn into pride (pride), you've been very close to arrogance. The line between pride and arrogance is less clear.
We actually consists of two poles, the ego at one pole and another pole on the real consciousness. At the time of birth to the world, we are naked and did not have anything. However, over time, we began to cultivate a variety of desires, more than we need in life. The sixth sense we have always said that we need more.
The journey of life tends to lead us toward the poles ego. The illusion of ego is what introduces us to the dualism of greed (extreme like) and hatred (extreme dislike). This is the root of all problems.
The struggle against pride is the struggle for true consciousness. To be able to resist pride in all its forms, there are two paradigm shifts we need to do. First, we need to realize that in essence we are not physical beings, but spiritual beings. We are spiritual authenticity, while the physical body is only a means to live in the world. We are born with empty hands, and (remember!) we were going to die with his bare hands.
Such an understanding will make us see all the creatures in the universal equality. We will no longer be deceived by appearances, labels, and all "look out" other. We now see is "looking in". Such an understanding will help to keep us from pride or ego illusion.
Secondly, we need to realize that whatever good deeds we do, everything that is solely for our own well.
We give something to others is also for the sake of our own.
In this life force of the law of conservation of energy. Energy we give to the world will never perish. That energy will come back to us in another form. The good we do will surely come back to us in the form of friendship, love, meaning of life, and deep inner satisfaction. Thus, each doing good to others, we are actually doing good to ourselves. If so, what do we boast?
